Cinciano is to secure Latin origins, perhaps it belonged to the Gens Tit. In 1126 it was donated by Zaballina, widow of Ridolfino from Catignano, to the Bishop of Florence Gotifredo along with Linari and Catignano castles. It is also mentioned in the texts of 1292, when some lands are leased by Bishop Andrea to the census of 14 bushels of corn per year.
The springs and the bathroom are known since the thirteenth century. Given its dominant position on the hilt, and the proximity to the old Poggio di Bonizio, from Bonizio Signs lord of the place, in a strategic position on the Via Francigena, it follows the fortunes and vicissitudes until its annexation to the Florentine Republic.
